Nebraska gropes on Grobe

A source close to Third Largest City.com says that Jim Grobe, the Wake Forest head coach, has talked to Nebraska about its opening.

The meeting took place in Atlanta, where Nebraska also talked to LSU defensive coordinator Bo Pelini and Buffalo coach Turner Gill.

Grobe met with Husker A.D. Tom Osborne and the school chancellor. No specifics were discussed, as it was more of an informal session.

Grobe has nine years left on his Wake deal, which pays him $1.5 million annually. He has a $2 million buyout.
